We say hi to Carmela at a local pastry shop, watch fresh pasta being made, and visit a neighborhood deli for a sample of their hand-pulled mozzarella. Finally, we find out where NYC chefs get their Italian food supplies and why.

Next, we head next door to a pork shop where the entire ceiling is covered with their homemade sausages. Then, our friend Diego gives us samples of his house-made ricotta at his cheese store before we move onto a local bakery for a taste of their singular white chocolate bread.
Inclusions: English speaking guide, and food and drink samples as per itinerary.
The tour has been created and is often led by Danielle Oteri and her husband Christian Galliani. Danielle's great grandfather, Albino Oteri, settled in the area and opened a fish market at 2374 Arthur Avenue. The store later became a butcher shop where the Academy Award-winning movie "Marty" was filmed. Christian is a first-generation Italian-American whose culinary tradition hails from Northern Italy. He's also a sommelier who believes firmly in the Italian wine pairing principle of what grows together, goes together.
We start our food adventure at the famous Arthur Avenue Retail Market, where we explore the many stalls inside and make a special stop to see what foods have just arrived from Italy.
